House on Maly Residential Complex, St Petersburg

Jura Beige Rahmweiss, honed, with carved ornament

About the project

House on Maly is an intimate private residential complex on Vasilyevsky Island in St Petersburg. Developed as a premium project by SOLO, it was completed at the end of 2013. The local practice Zemtsov, Kondiain and Partners designed the building as a continuation of the established frontage along Maly Prospekt. The modelling of the facade and its offset bay windows reinforce the continuous ensemble of historic street elevations. Honed Jura Beige Rahmweiss adds further rhythm. Plant-inspired stone ornament at the plinth and on selected upper-storey details recalls the architecture of Art Nouveau. Jura Limestone has been established on St Petersburg's premium facades for almost a quarter of a century. Despite the city's cool temperate, maritime-influenced climate, carefully selected Jura stone remains one of the most reliable natural facade materials for this location.
